Henry Cagle, born in 1793, died Nov 1843, in Warren Co.Tn.

He is the son of Jacob Elias (1755-1845) & Lucy Darrough Cagle (1755-1821).
Henry is buried in Cem. behind Shiloh Methodist Church,in the community of Steppsville, between highway 56 and the Collins River inscribed field stone, weathered by time is the oldest marker in cem. partly illegible records H. Cagle, date of death, Nov 1843. Before settling permanently in Warren Co. TN., Left records , in Lincoln Co, TN. County Court minutes show that Henry did have land in Lincoln Co,TN, Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, dated November 12, 1814. Shows with 5 acres on Norris Creek, Land Entry #3934.Another reference to Henry for 5 acres on the head of Norris Creek,# 617 Henry Cagle was listed next to the famous David Crockett with 5 acres of land Head East Mulberry,. Also son Ignatious West was born in that county. Appearing same page of delinquent tax payers,a William Cagle, who in1820 appeared in Marion Co TN.

Henry may have forfeited his land in Lincoln Co. TN, Lincoln Co. organized in 1809 from old Bedford Co. Marion was formed in 1817 from former Indian lands.and Bledsoe Co.,TN Along with his brother, Charles acquired land on Brush Creek during the 1820's Brush Creek and its tributary , Little Brush Creek, headed into Bedsoe Co and around the community Cagle TN. Cagle Tennessee was named after the first settlers, the Cagle family)were taken into Sequatchie Co,after its formation, largely from the end of Marion Co and the southern end of old Bledsoe Co. During the 1820' and 30's Henry and Charles were also acquiring land joining Warren CoTn, near their father Jacob Cagle, 1755-1845. And by the 1830 census Henry had moved his residence to Warren Co. Purchased 60 acres top of Cumberland Mtn,on Brush Creek 6 Nov. 1826, 50 acres top of Cumberland Mtn.6 Nov. 1826 This area later became part of Sequatchie County. Members of his family in buried in Shiloh Cem,
The first road bult through the community was the Savage Road,stopped in McMinniville, The building of this road was part of a contest beteen Savage and a man named Hill, who was building a road across Fredonia Mountain , known after completion as Old Hill Road. Savage was the winner.

Henry died 1843. and his widow Celia , moved to Lawrence Co Al. to live with daughter Milly Stokes two of her sons were also living in same county, Isaac R. And Henry P. Thombstone of H. Cagle, believed to be Henry Cagle, 1790's 1840's, located on the crest of a hill in the Cemetery behind Shiloh Methodist Church. A inscribed field stone the earliest marked grave in the cemetery., weathered and partly illegible, but records H.Cagle, Nov 1843.Some of Henry's family is also buried there, John 1813 and his wife Sarah, 1813 son of Henry John in unmarked grave , Sarah has stone giving dates. James Cagle, grandson and family .stone reads: In memory of James Cagle, born March 30, 1830, Died Sept. the 18th. 1895. A member for 48 years.
