He died on July 6, 1969 in Jasper Memorial Hospital, Jasper, Jasper County, Texas, United States from Metastatic Carcinoma of the ParaThyroid Gland and was buried on July 6, 1969 in Hemphill Cemetery, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas, United States.
