Henry Ettleman was the 9th child of Jacob and Anna Clara Ettleman, born on 9-6-1798 in Franklin County PA. Died at age 67 y, 1 m, & 27 d on 11-3-1865.

He married Christena Clapper, dau of Mathias Clapper and Mary King, born 8-30-1802 also in Franklin County PA.

Henry and Christena had the following children: Eli b 7-1-1825 who died at the age of 8 in Stark County Ohio; Samuel b 10-18-1926; Mary Ann b 10-14-1831; Catherine b 2-4-1835 and died in infancy; Moroni b 3-2-1838; Henry b 4-14-1841 who died at the age of 5 near Council Bluffs, Iowa and is buried there.

Henry was ordained a High Priest of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on May 11, 1843. He was licensed to perform marriages in Pottawattaie County Iowa on 8-6-1849. He lived for a time in Utah and settled in Dutch Hollow near Thurman in 1860. (Forney's Five Family Book of Records)
