The last Givan in the list ( 3. Henry C. Given, Co B,33rd Reg, IA,. Marion Co.IN, c1833 ) is Henry Clay Givan. Henry is my husband's ggg-uncle.
The History of Keokuk Co.(DesMoines:1880) p. 514 shows Co. B, 33 IA Infantry, Pvt. Henry C. Givan, captured, Feb 16, 1863 at Yazoo Pass.

Henry is the son of John and Rebecca Mills Givan. The census records show John Givan to have been born in MD about 1798. John named his oldest son Lindsay. There is a record of marriage for a James Givan and Betsy Linsday in Worcester, Worcester Co., MD on 22 Mar 1797. I suspect these to be John's parents.

At this point I do not have a clue to the identity of the parents of James.
Any help would be appreciated. Ann
