Hinton Blewett is a parish in north east Somerset, situated south of Bristol and north east of Wells. It is served by the church of All Saints, the parish registers of which date from 1563. In the 19th. century, the parish contained the village of Hinton Blewett and the hamlet of South Widcombe. The village of Hinton Blewett was small and wholly agricultural, the soil being mostly white lias overlying corn grit.

Hinton Blewitt (Grid reference ST593568) is situated 5 miles north of Wells, 15 miles south of Bristol on the Northern slope of the Mendip Hills within the designated Area if Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and in the Chew Valley near to the source of the River Chew.
The village was known in the Domesday Book as Hantone, the Blewett part of the name coming from the Bluet family in the fourteenth century.
The name of the village is sometimes spelt as Hinton Blewett. There is a village green outside the pub and church, sometimes known as the "Barbary".
All saints church is largely built of Blue Lias with Doulting Stone arcade probably dates from the 13th Century although parts are as late as the 16th or 17th Century. The five bells were cast in 1708 by the Bilbies of Chew Stoke.
