About Henry Harrison
Born in Manchester, Henry Harrison (1795 – 1871) settled in Liverpool in 1812 as a partner in Harrison and Latham at George’s Dock and later Cook Street. He was a bachelor when he lived at Aigburth Hall. Henry left Aigburth to spend a period in Brazil. He returned to England and married Mary Rosina Sandbach, 20 years his junior, in 1835. They moved into a large house in Aigburth called Holmefield, bringing up 11 children. Business setbacks forced Henry to downsize, moving to a smaller house called Mostyn in 1865.
