Henry W. Iblings passed away May 30th, at St. Raphael Hospital at St. Cloud after an operation which was performed May 29th.
Mr. Iblings was born November 17, 1878 at Freeport, Ill., where he lived until 1886, when he came with his parents to Parkersburg, Iowa. He grew to manhood there and afterward went into the grain business at Geneva, iowa. On July 5th, 1906, he was united in marriage with Estella Stouffer at Freeport, Illinois. He had lived for the past fifteen years in Minnesota. The family came to Alexandria about a year and a half ago and Mr. Iblings leased the Potato Warehouse, later buyng the Birkhofer brewery and remodeling it into a warehouse handling mill products and potatoes.
Mr. Iblings was a very energetic business man and a man of large ideas and a valuable man to the community. Alexandria lost a good citizen when he passed away.
He is survived by the widow and two daughters, Agnes and Frances, aged 17 and 13 years; also by six brothers, J. I. Iblings, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Chris Iblings, Sioux City, Ia.; William Iblings, New Leipsie, N.D.; C. A. Iblings, Parkersburg, Ia.; H. Iblings, Brownsdale, Minn.; H. E. Iblings, Hollywood, Cal.; and three sisters, Mrs. George Lubberts, Parkersburg, Ia.; Mrs. O. A. Jansen, Freeport, Ill., and Mrs. H. H. Schmidt, Madison, S. D.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the home and the Congregational church, Rev. Blunt officiating. He was a member of the Odd Fellow and local Muscovite orders and the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs attended the funeral in a body, the Odd Fellows having charge at the cemetery. The pallbearers were E. R. Westerberg, C. W. Knauf, Richard Chase, H. W. Ludke, E. J. Brandt and J. J. Volker. Interment was in Kinkead cemetery.
