About Henry Turner Kimbrough

  • James and Nancy Turner Kimbrough were the parents of five children, but their fourth child, Henry T. Kimbrough, {some think the T. stands for Turner, others say Thomas} was the most known and owned the most property. He also left the most descendants. Henry T. was born in Caswell County, North Carolina. He and his wife, Ursula, lived on a farm near the old Rockwood School at the foot of Crooked S. Hill. The farm was inherited from the Kimbrough family. The farm in later years was known as the Bill Hammonds place. Bill Hammonds married Sarah, the youngest daughter of Henry T. Kimbrough, and eventually the farm passed to a descendant, Lemora Kimbrough, who married Floyd Brooks. Henry T. and Ursula Kimbrough were the parents of 12 children.
