Revolutionary Soldier (R.S.) Henry Parrish, Sr. (a) was born around 1740 in Spotsylvania, Spotsylvania County, Virginia, son of Joel Parrish, Sr. and Mary (Woolfolk) Parrish.

Around 1770, he married Mary Ann Monk in North Carolina. They had 10 children born into the Parrish family including Josiah (1771, Duplin County, NC), Jerushia (circa 1773), Hezekiah (1776), Ezekiel Parrish (1779), Mary (1781), Mourning (1787), Joel (1787, North Carolina), Henry (1786, North Carolina), Ansel (1789, North Carolina) and Absalom (1796 Bulloch County, Georgia) Parrish.

Henry Parrish moved to New Hanover County, North Carolina. He was a patriot of the American Revolution with the rank of Private serving for 3 years in the North Carolina Continental Line (b).

After the war, Henry moved to Wilkes County, Georgia. There he was granted 200 acres of land. In 1787, he bought 92 acres more on the Ogeechee River from a Benjamin Few. A few years later, he moved to Bulloch County, GA, where he lived until his death.

On June 23, 1800 (b), Henry Parrish, Sr., age 60, died in Bulloch County with burial in Upper Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Portal, Bulloch County, Georgia, USA.

His will, dated June 23, 1800, was probated June 30, 1800. Executors of his will were his wife, Mary Ann, John Daughtrey and Jacob Mincy. The will gave his estate to his wife for her lifetime, then after that, to be divided between his 10 children (c).

In 1949, she was the first descendant of Henry Parrish to become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution on the record of his service. She was a member of the John Floyd Chapter with the National Number 386789.
