I found missing baby #8, image 530 on this same Darmstadt film

Josepha Rachor, born 21 Dec1846, baptized 3 Jan 1847

This is why I really wanted to look at the film these records came from, because I knew there was a missing baby girl…

Her death is 1 year later: 15 Dec 1847 on Family Search Darmstadt film #831680, image 392

Yes, I too have looked many years for my Henry H. Rachor with possible birth range of 1825 - 1830

I have not been able to find anything in the U.S. with his parents’ names, only the place of Frankfurt on the Main from 1860 Minnesota U.S. Census and Hessen-Darmstadt on 1870 Minnesota U.S. Census.

I found this family of Johann Heinrich Anton Rachor & Margaretha Sommer with the baby Heinrich born in 1829 in Seligenstadt, but didn’t know if it was the correct family. I couldn’t find another baby Heinrich Rachor in the area and time frame. Your inability to find another Heinrich Rachor in the correct time frame gave me hope that it was the right family.

My latest evidence that it is the correct Heinrich is Ancestry DNA. We had a match with a man named Peter Seblonka who has done a lot of research. Our common ancestor is thru this Margaretha Sommer! Peter Seblonka’s line comes through Margaretha Sommer’s brother Peter Sommer, so the common ancestor is their father Peter Sommer, born 1747 in Seligenstadt. So I am pretty confident Heinrich Rachor born in 1829 to Johann Heinrich Anton Rachor & Margaretha Sommer is my Henry since the DNA seems to say so too.

Thanks so much!

Diana Hone"

Initial information for this family was furnished on a FGR by Audrey McGee Malloy; Diana Hone file (M FGR 001) which listed 8 children: Lizy, Lena or Lina, Jachop, Henry, Charley, Nick and John.

ROUTE & TIME LINE: FGR by Audrey (M FGR 001) states: RASHOR family - Germany, New York, Minn, Lewiston ID, Oregon, had land in Days Creek - farmer & many other trades - from Germany.

NOTES-TIMELINE: Not on 1885 MN State Census, Douglas Co. Linda Barnhart says son Henry P married Elizabeth Cowan in Grand Harbor, North Dakota in 1885. Grandson Henry H (son of Henry Peter) was born 1886/87 in North Dakota. Henry Peter's next child was born 1890 in WA. They were still in WA on 1900 Census but in OR on 1910 Census. Henry Peter's death certif in 1919 says he had resided in Days Creek abt 15 years = 1904. From some of the other marriage dates it looks like some of them came to OR about 1904. Dosen't look like they stayed in Idaho very long if at all.

POSSIBLE ROUTE TO MN: "They Chose MN" Chapter 8 "The Germans" pg153-, SLCFHL 977.6 F2t; copy in Diana Hone file (M HIST 007); from NY or Boston advised to take train to Buffalo, boat across Great Lakes to Milwaukee, trainto La Crosse on the Mississippi, steamboat up river to Winona or St. Paul.

1910 Douglas Co OR Census: Henry, Ann & Lizzie Rachor live right next to son John with his wife Ida at her parents, Matilda & Frank live next door to his father William Perdue, Henry P Rachor and his family are there, along with George &Martha Perdue and Marion, Daniel & May Perdue all live together in same neighborhood.

Lilly Perdue Weeks later added information per Diana's request (M FGR 002).

Subsequent research as follows...

NAME:

FGR by Audrey (M FGR 001) says Henry H. Rachor but Audrey seems to have questioned whether it was spelled Rachor or Rashor.

Matilda's Death Certif (RAC DEA 005) states her father's name as Henry H. Raschor.

Census and everything else so far say Rachor.
