Abstracts of Fauquier County Virginia, Wills Inventories and Accounts 1759-1800 pg 448 to 449 Henry Rector division of dower 18 July 1782 pursuant to an order of the worshipful court of Fauquier May Court 1782 we the subscribers having met together in company of each other have procured to set apart the dower of Mary Rector relict of Heny Rector deceased being furnished with an inventory of the personal estate of the deceased and a copy of the will do allott to the said relict in the following manner viz: Negro Jack L50 James L120 two stills and utensils L100 choice bed and furniture L12 nine plates 17 shillings dower of two tracts of land..by J Moffett, Hez'h Turner, John T Chunn Dower consisted of 113 2/3 acres bounded by land of William Rector, Wm Young, and John and Enoch Rector the dower in the lands whereof Henry Rector, Jur died seized in fee simple to Mary Rector, widow chain carriers Wm Turley, Edw'd Shacklett, No 1 is part of 157 acres left to Wm Rector by the said Henry No 2 is part of 257 acres left to John and Enoch Rector, the widow relinquished her dower in part of 157 acres, only taking 30 acres thereof registered in Book A Fauquier county surveys folio 33 returned 23 Sept 1782
