Citing this Record "England Marriages, 1538–1973 ," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/N2XM-H32 : accessed 21 Dec 2013), Henry Walton Smith and Anna Eastaugh, 27 Oct 1784.
Anna Eastaugh made her mark - she was apparently a servant girl. Henry Walton Smith was from a well-to-do family and was disowned and disinherited as the result of the union.
Henry Walton Smith began a newsagent business with Anna Little Grosvenor Street, expanding into bookselling, bookbinding and country newspaper distribution which was achieved via coach and horse, using the turnpike road system. He died in 1792, the same year his son, Willam Henry Smith, was born.
Anna continued to run the business until she died in 1816. Anna was born in Suffolk but when Henry met her she was a domestic servant living at 95 Watling Street (near St. Paul's Cathedral) in the employ of a coal merchant's widow. They were married on 27th October, 1784 at Spittlefields Christchurch in the district of Stepney. (see above and attached).
