About Henry Smith
Henry Smith was born in Ralphs Bay, Clarence Plains, Van Diemens Land and died in Christchurch New Zealand. He was sixth of the certain children of George Smith and Grace Morrisby, Grace, William, George, James, Richard, Henry and Annie {about whom there is more in H H Smith's notes on 'Henry Smith and His Siblings' attached).
Grace Morrisby was eldest daughter of James Morrisby (Norfolk Island convict) and Ann Brooks (Norfolk Island convict) about whom there is more in the 'Morrisby and Brooks' document attached to their profiles; George Smith had been a Marine at the time of his arrival in the first fleet to Hobart.
A Christina Smith has been attached to James Morrisby and Ann Brooks as their eldest daughter. This seems to have been biologically improbable (given the age of Grace Morrisby' in 1810), geographically impossible (as Christina is given in her death registration as born in Scotland), and genealogically unlikely (in view of H H Smith's notes). Christina Smith did marry Henry Morrisby, a younger brother of Grace Morrisby
