There were several Tandy families living in Worcestershire, England, in the 16th century. The principle locations of these families are Churchill, Bretforton and Himbleton. Himbleton is about 14 miles from Churchill, while Bretforton is about 24 miles.There is only one James Tandy found but there are at least two different Henry Tandys. How these families are related has not yet been discovered.
As curator for this family, I have chosen to treat each family separately, and have used the town where they are found in their display names to differentiate between the families. Should we ever find proof of their connection, it is easy enough to link the families.
The surname Tandy was spelled phonetically during the 16th and 17th centuries. Variations include Tandy (as we know it today), Tandie and Tandye. I have used whatever variation was found on the source document.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Henry Tandy I was born circa 1574 in Worcestershire England. He is believed to be the son of James Tandy and Alice Clarcke of Churchill, Worcestershire, England. However, this could be wrong. James and Alice are only found in Churchill, while Henry is only found in Bretforton. There are christening records for both of his sisters and none for him.
He married Susan Winmore in 1599 in Brentforton, Worcestershire, England.
Child of Henry Tandy and Susan Winmore
NOTE - Henry and his children did not use the suffixes I, II, III, etc. They have been added by genealogists as an aid in keeping the generations untangled.
