About Henry H Taylor
The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Sergeant Henry H. Taylor, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 25 June 1863, while serving with Company C, 45th Illinois Infantry, in action at Vicksburg, Mississippi. Sergeant Taylor was the first to plant the Union colors upon the enemy's works.
