Henry Taylor Wickham

Born at "Hickory Hill" in Hanover County, Virginia, to Gen. Williams Carter Wickham (1820-1888) and Lucy Penn Taylor Wickham.
Grandson of William Fanning and Anne Butler Carter Wickham.
Great-grandson of Robert and Mary Nelson Carter.
He received his BA from Washington College (now Washington and Lee University) in 1868 and his LLB from the University of Virginia in 1870.
Member of the Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Wickham became an assistant attorney for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad in 1870.
Appointed a vice president in 1909, he served as the railroad's general counsel until 1923, and as advisory counsel until his death.
Represented Hanover County in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1879 to 1880.
From 1889 to 1904, he represented Hanover and Caroline Counties in the Virginia State Senate, and represented those counties, and King William County, Virginia, from 1904 to 1906.
In 1923, he returned to the Senate representing Hanover, Caroline, King William, and Goochland Counties and served until his death.
He served as president pro tem of the Senate from 1897 to 1906, and again at the time of his death.
Died in his winter home at The Jefferson.
