MEMORIAL PHOTOS 1 FLOWERS 0 Henry W. Wohlgemuth was born on October 3, 1909, to Cornelius and Maria Warkentin Wohlgemuth, in Blumenhof, Manitoba. He peacefully fell asleep on September 22, 1996. On June 18, 1933, he married me, Edna Peterson, at Greenland, Manitoba. Through the years I appreciated the companionship and security of a Christian husband and father. God blessed our home with four sons and eight daughters. At the age of fifteen Dad answered the call of the Lord and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, on May 9, 1925, by Min. Jacob T. Wiebe. He embraced this faith to the end. His faith and confidence in God and His church remained an anchor for us even in times of severe test. By word and example Dad diligently taught his family to put God first. He carried a burden for his family and others, spending much time in prayer for their salvation. His fondness for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was often expressed. The first years of our married life Dad worked for a fuel company, and the rest of his active years were spent farming in the Ste. Anne, Manitoba, area. During his early retirement years he found special fulfillment in his work with the Gospel Tract and Bible Society, finding particular interest in the India field. The last three and one-half years he lived at the Maplewood Manor, Steinbach, Manitoba. Those left with fond memories are: his wife, Edna; and children: Matilda Wohlgemuth, Steinbach, Manitoba; Linden and Alice Wohlgemuth, Riding Mountain, Manitoba; Leanna and Herbert Friesen, Elma, Manitoba; Ronald and Mildred Wohlgemuth, Aylesford, Nova Scotia; Eileen and Rennie Wiebe, Ste. Anne, Manitoba; Nina and Orville Friesen, Cartwright, Manitoba; Vivian and Clifford Bartel, Saltcoats, Saskatchewan; Henrietta and Jesse Friesen, Ste. Anne, Manitoba; Myrle and Ethelyn Wohlgemuth, Lakeville, New Brunswick; Florence and Ralph Warkentin, Saltcoats, Saskatchewan; and Martha and Garry Warkentin, Ste. Anne, Manitoba; sixty-six grandchildren, sixty-one great-grandchildren; two sisters; and two sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by one infant son, one daughter-in-law, one grandson, his parents, five brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services were held at the Greenland Congregation of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Ste. Anne, Manitoba, on September 25, 1996. Ministers Edgar Wohlgemuth and Melvin Penner were in charge. Burial was in the Greenland Church Cemetery.
