SYDNEY, Thursday.
A suit for divorce, in which the parties are residents of Newcastle, was heard by Mr. Justice James, in the Divorce Court this morning. The petitioner, Arthur James Hammond, hair-dresser, represented by Mr. H. C. G. Moss, charged that his wife, Bessie Vera Hammond formerly (Brotherton), had been guilty of misconduct from within two days of her marriage on June 29, 1919. Herbert Matthew George Adams, crane driver, being named as co-respondent. Hammond stated that he saw his wife in October, 1919, when she admitted that she was in a certain condition. Evidence was given of the registration of an illegitimate child.
His Honor found the issues proved, and granted a decree nisi, with costs against co-respondent.

ADJOURNED
Herbert Matthew George Adams was granted an adjournment to Jan. 5 when he pleaded not guilty to having
supplied intoxicating liquor during unlawful hours on Oct. 17. at the Travellers' Rest Hotel. Young Wallsend. Clarence Henry Harris was charged with having been found on licensed promises on the same date and his case was also adjourned.
