Herman (64), was beaten over head with a steel pipe on his farm in Groblersdal, on 6th August 2017. He died from heart attack and shock.

- Thomas Baloyi, Thobias Moyo, Fanie Kakwakwa, and Boy Chris Langa, appeared in court in November on charges of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances and were granted bail of R1 000 each
- The Valley community was shocked by the news that Baloyi was part of the farm attack on Ms. Wilma Liebenberg which took place on Feb. 6. She was shot dead during the farm attack.
- On April 9 when only two of the three suspects showed up for their court proceedings. Only Kakwakwa and Langa appeared in court. Moyo was absent.
Additional Biographical Information:
Speaking to Farmer’s Weekly, Agri Limpopo Vice-president Piet Engelbrecht said Botha’s death is a massive loss to the community. Botha employed about 30 permanent labourers.
