Herman C. Thiessen - 1957
Herman C. Thiessen, 79, a former New Holstein resident who has been making his home with a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Ruehlmann, at Waunakee, Dane County, passed away there Monday. Mr. Thiessen was born at New Holstein May 14, 1878, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Thiessen, attended school there, and was married at New Holstein July 15, 1905, to Jennie Friess. Throughout his active working life until his retirement in 1952 Mr. Thiessen was employed as an engineer at the Lauson Engine Co. plant at New Holstein. He was a member of the firm's Quarter Century Club and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Ruehlmann, and two grandchildren. His wife died Aug. 2, 1951. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral Home in New Holstein. The Rev. Roland Kley, pastor of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, will conduct the services, and burial will be in New Holstein City Cemetery. Masonic rites will be conducted at the grave.
