About Herman Wexler
An immigrant from Russia, Herman Wexler married Jennie Davis in Spokane in 1919. They lived in Portland, Oregon by the late 1920s, where Herman worked as a chiropractor through the Great Depression.
Starting in 1942, Herman ran the Buckhorn Mineral Springs (a health resort since the late 1800s) near Ashford in southern Oregon.
According to MailTribune.com, Herman was "calling it a 'sanitarium' and publishing claims of treatment for a long list of ailments, including anemia, arthritis, colon trouble, ear complaints, sciatica, goiter and many others."
His sanitarium closed in 1962 and he died in Jackson Co., Oregon the following year.
