Born in Lobsens, Prussia, now Lobzenica, Poland. Served in the Prussian army with the 129th Grenadiers based in Bromberg (Bydgoszcz) (Hans Feld 1974). Left Germany with his wife Hermine, his son Hans, his daughter-in-law Katie, and his grandson Michael on 31 March 1933, two months after Hitler became chancellor. They first lived in Prague and then in London. On 14 November 1934 - 31 January 1935 they visited Berlin. Since Hans and Katie could not afford to support Herrmann and Hermine, in 1936 they moved to Palestine and joined their daughter Margarete Wahl and her family in Kfar Vitkin on 1 April 1936. Herrmann and Hermine both died in Kfar Vitkin.
