About Hester Sondergaard
Hester started, like her older sister, a career as an actor with Stage-Plays in 1935, joined the Ford Theater Radio Drama, and became a frequent performer on radio during the 1940'ties. Did work with films : Seeds of Freedom in 1943, Naked City in 1948, Jigsaw in 1949, and The Big Break in 1953. One of which, only as the speaker.
In 1950 or 51 she was blacklisted together with her sister as possible "red-sympathizers"
She was married to (Emerson) Hugh DeLacy appr. 1952, until they divorced in 1960.
She was married at least one more time, ending in divorce.
No children.
Hester went on to study as a Doctor Med.(?), and joined a doctors congress in Copenhagen in the 1970'ties where she met her Danish family.
She died the 26. of Feb. 1994
TILFØJET AF BENTE BUNDGAARD HANSEN DEN 6. FEBRUAR 2015.------------ Var skuespiller som sin søster Gale Sondergaard. Indspillede dog kun disse film: "Jigsaw", "The Naked City", og "Seeds of Freedom". Var også læge, besøgte Danmark i 1971 i forbindelse med en lægekongress. Fik ingen børn.
