Hester van der Berg (1931 – 2011)
Brief overview:
Hester (80), was found beaten to death on her smallholding in Recreation Street in Theescombe, south of Port Elizabeth, on 2nd May 2011. Her body was found in the garage by her 84 year old husband Basil and the couples two children after they arrived home in the afternoon.
Warrant officer Alwin Labans said that Hester had sustained bruises to an eye, the back of her head and her ribs.
Labans says the motive for the murder is unclear as there appeared to be no forced entry to the property.
