Hilda A. Otte, age 94 of Sauk Centre, died on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at Knute Nelson Home in Alexandria.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 12, at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev.
Steve Hayden officiating. Interment was at St. Paul's Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Hilda Otte was born Sept. 24, 1912, in Melrose, to William and Christina (Discher) Kind. She married Richard Otte, Sr. on June 12, 1937, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. She worked at the Waldorf Café in Sauk Centre for many years and as a nurse's aide at Serepta Home in Sauk Centre for 15 years. Hilda was a homemaker and, with her husband, farmed in Sauk Centre Township and owned and operated Sauk Centre Auction Market from 1959 to 1979. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre and the Ladies Aid. Hilda enjoyed cooking and gardening.
Survivors include her sons, Richard, Jr. and his wife, Jean of Alexandria, Robert and his wife, Lorna of East
Sound, Wash., and James of Bozeman, Mont.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Aurelia
Kind of Melrose; nieces and nephews.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Otte, Sr. on Nov. 4, 1991; brothers and sisters,
William, Gerhart and Fred Kind, Selma Kind, Anna Kind, and Mary Hellickson; and daughter-in-law, Jan Otte in
March of 2001.
Serving as casket bearers were Justin, Jeff, David and Bruce Otte, Andrew Hart and David Kind. Honorary
bearers were Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid and Monday Morning Coffee Group.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
