She attended Walnut Hill School, (Barren County,Ky) which was only one room. At approximately 16 years of age she became a teacher at the school and later she attended the School of Business in Bowling Green, KY. In the 1930's she became a teacher at a College in Sandusky, Ohio. When her mother and father became quite elderly, she returned to Park City, KY (formerly Glasgow, KY) approximately 1943, to assist them. She began teaching at the High School in Park City and continued until she retired in 1962. She was baptised at the age of 13 years old and had been a member of the Mount Vernon Church of Christ for 80 years. \par }
