Brief life history

Hughes Bowles - Revolutionary War record, on Muster Roll 9th Virginia Regiment of Infantry (Foot) commanded by Lt. Col Burgess Ball. He enlisted Feb 16, 1778 for one year.

On July 5, 1778 regiment at Brunswick, New Jersey. He was sick at Valley Forge May and June ( name spelled Hews Bolls). On Dec 24, 1778, regiment was at Middlebrook, New Jersey and he was on detached duty at West Point, New York. On the muster roll of Capt Tarlton Payne's Company, 1st Virginia Regiment commanded by Col. Richard Parker, October thru Dec 1778 and Jan 1779.

On Muster Roll of 1st Virginia Regiment (name spelled Hews Bolls).

On August 7, 1783, he received certificate for 19 pounds, 8 shillings, 8 pence for balance of full pay agreeable to Act of Assembly passed November session 1781 (name spelled Hues Bowles).
