Ina Cloete (1956 - 2022)

Brief overview:

Ina (66), and her husband Louis Cloete (74), were overpowered and tied up when three attackers gained entry to their home on their farm at Levubu, outside Thohoyandou, Limpopo at around 16h20 on Wednesday 20th April 2022.

The perpetrators ransacked the house stealing various items, including firearms, before setting light to the couple's home, and then stole their pick-up truck and fled. The couple were later found burnt beyond recognition in the house. It was not known as to whether the couple had been killed before the house was set alight.

  • Mukhethwa Goodman Magoma (20) and Engetelo Advance Sambo (18) were arrested on April 21 at their homestead in Hasani village near Malamulele. the third suspect is still on the run

  • The two suspects,were charged with housebreaking, robbery, murder and arson. They appeared in the Vuwani magistrate's court before magistrate Caswell Ntsane. Prosecutor Avhatakali Tshikudo asked the court for a postponement in order to gather further evidence on the accused for a formal bail hearing, and the case was postponed the matter to 30th June 2022.
