Ina Marincowitz (1955 - 2014)

Brief overview:

Ina (55), was raped before being stabbed to death, and dumped in some bushes in Stormsrivier on 27th January 2014. Her gardener, Phillip Nel, and his accomplice, Louis Baardman, stole her vehicle, clothing and several other household items valued at about R80 000 the suspects fled the scene.

“On the same day a police patrol vehicle spotted the vehicle on the N2 and tried to pull it off the road, but it sped off and they gave chase,” Police spokesperson Sergeant Majola. They vehicle lost control and overturned about 15 kilometres outside Stormsriver. Police uncovered that it was Ina's vehicle which was stolen, and this led to the recovery of her body.

  • The Stormsriver Regional Court sentenced the two men to life imprisonment for murder and a further 15 years for aggravated robbery.
