About Ingeborg Olsdatter Grose
From the Rice County Journal, Jan. 27, 1915:
Mrs. Ingeborg Grose died at her home near Kenyon on Thursday, January 14, at the age of 84 years. Deceased was born in Naseth, Arnefjord, Sogn, Norway, October 10, 1831. She was married in Norway in 1854 to I. Fretheim and three weeks later accompanied her husband and a party of others to America, making their home in Albany, N. Y. Here she suffered the loss of her husband, who died of sunstroke. Later the party moved farther west making their home in Koshkonong, Wis. In 1860 she became the wife of Frederick Grose, and they removed to Minnesota and bought land on which they settled and which has since been the homestead for the past 55 years.
