About Ingeltrude

Ingeltrude was the daughter of Eberhard (or Everard), Duke of the March of Friulia, and wife Gisela of Cysoing. She was born between 837 and 840, and died after 874. Scholar Eckhardt suggests that Ingeltrude was the wife of Heinrich von Babenberg, Margrave of Friesland, who died in 886. However, this appears impossible chronologically given that Heinrich's daughter Hedwig gave birth to her third child in 876.

Ingeltrude's mother Gisela, daughter of Louis the Pious and Judith of Bavaria, founded the Abbey at Cysoing in Flanders. She gave donations in the names of each of her children. She also provided burial plots at the Abbey for some of those children. Ingeltrude is on that list, which would suggest that she did not marry. MedLands does not list a husband for Ingeltrude other than the chronologically impossible Heinrich, discussed above.
