Ingrid Koch (1957 - 2022)
Brief overview:
Ingrid (65), and her husband, Frans (69), were overpowered and attacked inside their home on their farm Klipheuwel in Moorreesburg in the Western Cape, on the morning of Tuesday 5th April 2022.
Ingrid had been stabbed multiple times and paramedics declared her deceased at the scene. Frans who had suffered severe stab wounds, but survived the attack, was transferred to hospital.
A 34 year old male was arrested after a reaction unit was immediately launched.
It is unknown as to whether the perpetrator was out on parole at the time.
"Cases of murder and attempted murder were opened for investigation. A 34-year-old male was arrested," said the police spokesperson Wesley Twigg".
Quote: "The DA’s Western Cape spokesperson for agriculture and environmental affairs, Andricus van der Westhuizen, said the DA urges SAPS to deal with this matter decisively so that the perpetrator is brought to book and to send a strong message that these senseless attacks will not be tolerated. Van der Westhuizen said rural communities across the country are under siege due to heinous acts of violence."
