Searching for my mothers genetic history. My mother is said to have come to Norway during the continuation war in Finland, with foster parents in Norway. What I see is that the foster father Georg Walter Martinsen was born and baptized in Kotka, Finland. He was part of a Norwegian family that traveled from Østfold to Kotka in the 1800s when the sawmill business was lucrative there.

My theory is that Georg Walter Martinsen may be a relative of my mother (though not her father).

Her foster mother was Danish, and as far as I can see, the trace lies with her foster father who was born in Kotka.
