Irene Riney, 84, of Taylor, passed away at 7:48 PM at Hannibal Regional Hospital Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Hannibal, MO.

A Private Family Service will be Friday January 29, 2021 at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO. A Graveside service will be at 12:00 PM Friday January 29, 2021 at St. Patrick Cemetery in St. Patrick, MO. The funeral service will be live streamed through Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. Irene was born October 5, 1936, in Quincy, IL to John and Rose Frieden Hoerr. She was married to Richard Eugene "Gene" Riney on March 5, 1955 in New London, MO. He preceded her in death on May 01, 2006.

Survivors include her children, Gaye (Dean) Redd of Taylor, MO, Sally (Jim) Gottman, Pam Hoenes, Steve Riney and Diane Augspurg all of Palmyra, MO; grandchildren Josh (Julie) Redd, Seth (Jill) Redd, Jeff (Amber) Gottman, Jay (Zandy) Gottman, Heather Kite, Matthew (Anna) Hoenes, Michael Hoenes, Bethaney (Jason) Wisehart, Karley Riney, Zach (Kayla) Riney, Austin Riney, Mackenzy Hess, and Kaley Augspurg; great grandchildren Isabelle, Ethan, Emma, Mason, and Olivia Redd, Wesley, Gabbie, Graysen, Josie, Brayden and Brody Gottman, Miles and Sadi Kite, Maclynn and Iris Hoenes, Avery and Trenton Wisehart, Quinlynn Riney, Addie, Aubrey, and Hazel Hess; brothers Louis Hoerr of Taylor, MO, and Donald (Elaine) Hoerr of Taylor, MO; sisters Rosemary (Allen) Massner of Quincy, IL and Cindy (Robert) DeSigne of Metamora, IL;sisters in-law Norma Richmond, Marie Disselhorst, Emma Hoerr

Irene was preceded in death by her in-laws Blanche and Robert Riney, parents, husband, brothers Wayne Hoerr, and Robert Hoerr, sister Barb Plank, and granddaughter Kasey Hess.

Irene was a wonderful homemaker and owned and operated her own flower shop, Flower City Florist. A beautiful kind woman, her children, grand, and great grand's were her life! She enjoyed going to their ballgames. Being outdoors with her plants and creating floral designs brought her great joy long after closing her shop.

Pallbearers will be Josh Redd, Seth Redd, Jeff Gottman, Jay Gottman, Matthew Hoenes, Michael Hoenes, Zach Riney, and Austin Riney.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Cemetery or the Irene Riney Memorial Fund to benefit local youth.

Honorary pallbearers will be Julie and Jill Redd, Amber and Zandy Gottman, Heather Kite, Bethaney and Jason Wisehart, Karley and Kayla Riney, Mackenzy Hess, and Kaley Augspurg and her great grandchildren and Olav Skinness of Norway a former foreign exchange student of the family.
