MUSCATINE WEEKLY JOURNAL, dated 22 April 1859 -

At Fairport, Muscatine County, Iowa, April 12, 1859, Isaac ANDERSON, aged 65 years, 10 months and 26 days. The deceased was a relic of a past generation. We have before us a slip of paper written by himself on the 15th of February, 1857, in which he states that he was born on the 17th of May, 1793, in Madison County, KY. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in the war against Great Britain on the 28th of August, 1812, and served nearly 7 months under Gen. HARRISON. On the 1st of May, 1814, he again enlisted at St. Louis under Gen. CLARK (Capt. Jeremiah WILSON's company) on an expedition up the Mississippi river. During this expedition he visited Ft. Armstrong (on Rock Island) and Prairie du Chien. His relatives have heard him say that his company found a hive of bees, with a supply of honey, at or near the point where the city of Muscatine now stands, but which was, of course, then without a sign of settlement. The deceased moved from Kentucky to Greene county Ind., in 1822, and from thence to Iowa in 1856. His aged consort, Elizabeth BUSKIRK, preceded him to the spirit land only eleven days previous to his own death and his daughter, Mrs. Sarah SPARKS, died on the 23d of last March. Thus in the short space of three weeks, three members of the family were laid in the tomb.
