Isaac Bamdas

Isaac Bamdas was born around 1840 in Minsk to Urie and Rele (parent names according to the death certificate). At 1870, when his photo was taken, he was still living in Minsk. He married Shime/Emma. He had 4 children: Jullie (Tilly?), Esther, Bernard and Morris. In 1901 the family was living in White Chapel, London. In 1906, the family emigrated to the US, via Canada (perhaps staying in Montreal for a while). Isaac died in Bronx at the age of 80, in 1920.

Isaac had two nephews: Shimon/Schemen that he named as relative when crossing the border to the US, and Harris born around 1874 who was living with him while in London. Shimon is listed in the arrival entries (1892) as having been born in 1872 in Smorgon, Belarus.
