About Isaac Blake, II

He served in the military Aug 26 1814 (Discharge date) in War of 1812. 6th Reg. VA Militia. Isaac Blake came to Marshall Co. as a small boy with his parents between

birth and 1796. On his 17th birthday he apprenticed to Thomas Johnston of Wheeling for 4 years

as a cord winder. He apparently didn't continue as in 1810 he married Elizabeth and turned to

farming. He served 3 months in the War of 1812, serving in the 6th VA Militia commanded by

Capt. John Bonnett. He was drafted at Fish Creek and was honorably discharged at Norfolk, VA

on August 26, 1814. On July 27, 1835, he bought 400 acres on the waters of Big Grave Creek.
