About Isaac George

Son of Colonel John George and Jane George. Jane's maiden name is unknown but some researchers claim it is "Cole" but this probably is not correct.

Husband of Hester Fawdon around 1654 probably in Isle of Wight County, Virginia.

Father of the following verified children:

  1. Robert George 2/20/1666 - 1/21/1733 (m. Sarah Elliott - 4/14/1734)
  2. John George 1674 to 1678 - 1711 (m. Unknown) (m. Frances Servant)
  3. Thomas George abt. 1681 - aft. 1702(Court records show Thomas to be an orphan of Isaac George in 1702. He was "bound" to a Mr. Thomas Drew)

On 10 Apr 1654 Major George Fawdon gave 1000 acres of land to Isaac George, the son of "Major John George." The land joined Col. George's land "on the upper side," and was a deeded as a gift to Isaac. He was approximatley 18 at the time of this gift to him, and, if Isaac failed to reach the age of 21, it would revert to back to Maj. Fawdon. It is a reasonable assumption that this gift was bestowed on Isaac as he was marrying the Major's daughter, Hester.(Isle of Wight Co, VA Book A, John Bennett Boddie, Seventeenth Century Isle of Wight, p. 528).

"Isaac George was born 20 Feb 1635/36 [per Thomas Blakey Family Bible.] He was probably born in Charles City County, Virginia."

"He is a proven child of Col. John George of Charles City Co, VA and Isle of Wight Co, VA, and was named in his father's Will of 1678."

"Unlike his father John, Isaac George left us precious few records. We know from deeds that his wife was named Hester, and she is generally thought to be the daughter of Major George Fawdon of Isle of Wight Co, VA, but that isn't completely proven. ...."

"Some earlier researchers state (without documentation) that Isaac died in Middlesex County ca 1689. His son Robert George was in Middlesex by 1687, so Isaac and Hester may have moved there, but I've seen no proof so far."
