   Granted Revolutionary War pension in 1853 (court enquiry according to

   researc h of Loix Chadwell Cruz) Isaac James, a son of Samuel and

   Rachel (Hass) Ja mes, was born in

   Bath County VA in 1758 and died in 1843. He served in the

   R evolutionary War. He married Abigail Riggs in Bath County in 1796.

   Abigail, a daughter of Morgan Riggs, was born in Bath County about

   1775 and died in 1825 .

   The family left Bath County VA and settled on Peters Creek in what

   is now N icholas County WV. Later his sons moved to Big Run in present

   day Braxton Cou nty WV.
