About Isaac Lamb
Isaac Lamb was also a UEL. The Canadian records show that he had a farm in Phillipstown (I am told this is now Nausau)Rennselaer Co., NY at the beginning of the Revolutionary war. He joined the English, was captured in 1777 and imprisoned twice. His farm was apparently confiscated. As soon as the war was over he went north to Elizabethtown (now Brockville), Leeds Co., Ontatrio. He made claim for compensation in Canada and was awarded land as was his son Jesse and daughter Rebecca Ann (who is my ancestor). The mother of these children and several others was Rebecca. It is believed that Isaac was married prior one or two times. It looks like Luzina might be a daughter, from a prior marriage. The above named children were born in Canada. Clearly, if Isaac had a large farm in NY in 1777 he probably was married and had a family. There are Lambs in this part of NY and I think some may be Isaac's children that were adults in 1886 or so when he went to Canada and decided not to go north with him. Isaac is believed to be from the Groton Conn. Lamb family, but this has not been established. Source Joan Best Ancestry message Boards.
