About Isaac Lazarus

See Hahn, Joachim: Jüdisches Leben in Esslingen. Geschichte, Quellen und Dokumentation, pages 287-288. Translation:

Isaak Lazarus and his wife, Sara, née Ochs, were among the first Jews to have been received in Esslingen by a letter of protection from 1806. Isaak was born on 27 October 1751 as the son of the merchant Lipmann Lazarus and his wife Beerle (?) Née Majer. On 10 December 1778 he married Sara to Ochs. She was born on 12 May 1750 as daughter of the Abraham Ochs from Nordstetten and his wife Esther Jacob from Fellheim in Bavaria. The couple had five children.
... Isaak Lazarus came from Wankheim to Esslingen and was named in the Schutzbrief as the first of the recorded Jews. From 1806 to 1812 he was the head of the Israelite community in Esslingen, and as such signed the contracts for the purchase of the Jewish cemetery and the Jewish bath in 1807 in the name of the Jewish families drawn to Esslingen (see p. 65). He worked in Esslingen, a jeweler's trade, and presumably a livestock and horse trade....
On the death of Isaac Lazarus, one learns from the mourning announcement signed by his son Leopold. ".... On Sunday, at seven o'clock, at the entrance of the Feast of Atonement, while he was attending the service, our dear husband, father and grandfather, Isak Lazarus, was suddenly relieved of a nervous shock. He who has known the venerable, respectable old man of 78 years will approve our just grief, and gladly grant our request for quiet sympathy." Isaak Lazarus was buried in the old cemetery (A XIII-18). His wife Sara followed him to his death on 23 April 1832 (A XIII-21).
