1810 United States Federal Census, Bethel Township, Sullivan Co., NY, Roll 30, page 342 - shows family of Nathan Mitchell (Generation 7) with Isaac, unmarried and probably still at home, under the age of 18.

1820 United States Federal Census, Damascus Twp., Wayne Co., PA, Roll M33-112, page 48 - shows Isaac Mitchell, now married age 28, with wife, Ursula Smith, and 3 daughters.

Death Certificate, Electa Mitchell Hunt, oldest daughter of Isaac Mitchell and Ursula Smith, who died Aug 1, 1902 in Charlevoix, Michigan - provides an estimated marriage year for Isaac Mitchell and Ursula Smith of 1814. Electa married Thomkins Hunt and was 87 years, 3 months and 7 days old when she died, making her birth date April 24, 1815. From this information we can estimate the marriage year of Isaac Mitchell and Ursula Smith to be 1814. Family tradition indicates their marriage date to be 4 Nov 1813; this is confirmed by the B. Sheard publication, Calkins Consolidated Before and After, page 165 (see Generation 5). Efforts have been made to find church records or bible records confirming these dates, but these no longer exist. Old churches, if there were any, have been torn down or vandalized, and a search for a “Mitchell” family bible proved unsuccessful.

All children for this family lived to be 70 to 90 years of age. Per Calkins Consolidated, Before and After, 1923 1963. Isaac Mitchell and his wife, Ursula Smith lived in the house that today is located behind the Damascus School, where Peg Erickson lives. At the time of Isaac's death Sept. 8, 1884, his widow, Ursula Smith, was 91 years old, and for the past three years was an invalid. He was also survived by 10 of his children.

At age 91/92 in the newspaper: Mr. Isaac Mitchell has a birth day in this month but once in four years. He is 91 or 92, and his wife, a few years his junior, and are as genteel a couple as one often sees. Of a family of eleven children, ten are living. The have many grandchildren and more than a score of great-crandchildren, some of whom are married and have children.
