About Isaac Martin Shotwell, Jr.
Shotwell, Isaac M. (Jr.), was born in Elba, N. Y., December 3, 1819. His father, Isaac M. Shotwell, came to Elba in 1818 from New Jersey, where he was one of the leading men of his town. Isaac M. Shotwell, jr., married Elvira L. Scofield, who died in 1853, and afterwards he married Delia A. Mattice, and they were the parents of two children: George M. and Mrs. Clara A. Kellogg. Mr. Shotwell died November 1, 1897. He was a strong temperance man and for many years had been a Prohibitionist. For many years prior to his decease he had retired from business and had lived in Batavia. He was a good square man, upright in character, and worthy of the esteem in which he was held.
