Her Husband's Last Will and Testament

James Heriot of Trabroun made his last will and testament at Aldingstone in East Lothian on 22 October 1612. He nominated and appointed his wife Isabel Maitland to be his only executor and universal intromitter, to whom he left his share of the free gear. The inventory of his moveable estate was given up by his widow, Isabel Maitland. At the time of his death her deceased husband owed two hundred and sixty-six pounds thirteen shilling a four pence to his son, Robert Heriot, younger of Trabroun (who is once referred to in error as Walter).
