Isabells's parents, William and Isabella traveled free to Australia on the convict ship "Canada" in 1817.
Australasian Chronicle Saturday 3 July 1841:
MARRIED. On the 2nd instant, at St. Mary's church, by the Rev. P. Farrelly, and subsequently by the Rev. Dr. Lang, John F. Gorman, eldest son of Lieutenant O. Gorman, H. M. 80th regiment, to Isabella, second daughter of William Johnston, Esq., of Newton Bank, Hastings River.
Isabella died on 26 March 1915, aged 95 at her home in Hughes Street, Potts Point.
Published in the "Australasian Chronicle" of Saturday 3 July 1841:
