About Isak Beck
According to the Beck Familiant record (Klatovy HBF VII/IV Inv. č. 66 Folio 19, Kaut 5310.10), Isak Beck of Kdyně (then Neugedein) was the son of Markus and Theresia Beck. He was married twice.
Isak's first marriage took place in 1776 to Katharina (no last name given) from Kdyně. However, the listing for this family in the 1793 Jewish Census for Kdyně is inconsistent with this. It states the name of Isak's wife as Sara and her age as 26. This would mean that she was born circa 1767 and would have been 9 years old in 1776.
Isak's second marriage took place March 7, 1806 according to the Familiant record. His second wife was Katherina Geschmay from Neugedein. The Familiant record does not list any children. However, there is an ambiguous record in the Jewish register for the town of Loucim (HBM 401 inv. č 402). The second notation on image 23 (no folio number) lists Isak Beck and his brother Jakob Beck as witnesses to the circumcision of Wolf Beck. After the note about Wolf is a note about the birth and death of Johanna Beck.
It is unclear who are the parents of these children. (Isak would have been 60 when Wolf was born and 63 when Johanna was born. His wife Katharina would have been 35 when Wolf was born and 38 when Johanna was born. It is certainly possible that they were the children's parents, but that is not stated in the record.)
- Wolf Beck (b. 1810 in Kdyně; d. at age 17). Buried in Janovice)
- Johanna Beck (b. June 1813 in Janovice; d. September 1815 in Janovice)
Isak died July 17, 1829 at age 79 in Kdyně House No. 159 Kdyně Church Records, Book 20 Folio 118, 4th line down on the right. He was buried in Nrysko Chewra.com Grave 211-00228.
Because Isak did not have a son who survived him, his place as a Familiant was taken by his nephew Lazar Beck.
