Israel BAXTER III [Parents] was born 2 Mar 1762 in near Kinston , NC. He died 1834/1835 in Greene Co., MS. Israel married Lucy LEVICY on 1785 in Marlboro County, SC.

Israel (1762-1834), son of Theophilus, served as a substitute for his father during the war under Colonels William Moultrie and Francis "Swamp Fox" Marion and was in the battle of Coosawhatchie Bridge, May 3, 1779, under Colonel John Laurens. When later asked if he had a record of his birth, he replied that it was in the family Bible which had gone to his older sister, then deceased.
