Ival Edward Allen

Mr. Allen was a 1934 graduate of East Union High School. He was a native and life long resident of Wells County, Union Township where he lived in the house he was born in. He was a farmer and also drove a school bus with the Northern Wells County School Corporation for 15 years. He had worked at Hower Tool in Ossian for 11 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Markle Church of Christ. He had also been a Sunday School teacher and Deacon. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Markle Boy Scouts.

M r. Allen was born on August 24, 1915 in Wells County, a son of J. Clyde and Celeste Leavengood Allen.

He was united in marriage to Lois Slater on December 3, 1944 at the Beach Grove Church of Christ in Roanoke. His wife survives in Markle.

Additional survivors include three sons: Dennis (Joyce) Allen of Markle; Gary (Karen) Allen and Lynn (Sharen) Allen both of Fort Wayne; a daughter: Mrs. Ray (Susan) Guillaume of Landrum, South Carolina; a sister: Mary Mann of Huntington; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
