I am of the view that SAG Vol. 5b is in error in this instance and that this J.C.T. VAN DER MERWE is in fact J.C.J. VAN DER MERWE (Joseph Cornelis Jacobus van der Merwe), who was married to Johanna Susanna Marchand.
