Obituary:

Jack P. Cope, 75, of Dover died Saturday, June 8, 2002 at Union Hospital following a sudden illness.

He retired from Huntington Bank in Dover after 30 years of service.

Born June 13, 1926 in Carrolton he was a son of the late Judge Frank and Mary Purdue Cope.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover, life member of the Dover Elks where he served as Treasurer and was a Commodore at Atwood Yacht Club. He was an Army veteran of WW II and received the Purple Heart for his action during the Battle of the Bulge. He enjoyed reading, traveling and was a racing enthusiast.

Jack is survived by his wife Norma Keller Cope with whom he would have celebrated 37 years of marriage on July 21, 2002.

He is also survived by two daughters: Shari (Doug) Strickmaker of Dover Peggy Luthy and her fiancé John Sibila of Dover

Beloved granddaughter: Jackie Luthy

Grandson: Brian (Rebecca) Strickmaker

Three great grandchildren: Noah, Elijah and Alexander Strickmaker

Brother: Richard Cope of Delroy

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at 1:00 pm in the St. John's United Church of Christ at Dover with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating. Interment will be at Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services.
